(Please prepare for worship through quiet reflection and meditation)

CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS

P Friends in Christ, in this Lenten season we have heard our Lord's call to intensify our struggle against sin, death, and the devil -all that keeps us from loving God and each other. This is the struggle to which we were called at baptism. Within the community of the church, God never wearies of forgiving sin and giving the peace of reconciliation. On this night let us approach the table of our Lord confident that our sins are forgiven, our guilt removed through the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ.  It is this faith that moves us to sing:

HYMN                "Forgive Our Sins As We Forgive"             ELW 605

P:  God, who is rich in mercy, loves us and makes us alive with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of + Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven. Almighty God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith.
C:  Amen.

P: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
C: And also with you.

P:  Prayer of the Day

C: Amen

P:  In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you.  Do this for the remembrance of me.

Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying:  This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.  Do this for the remembrance of me.

LORD'S PRAYER

P:  When we eat this bread, and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.  Come, join in the feast set before you.
