Jesus calls us to put into practice what He taught us. He showed us the way, and He is with us every day as we do. His work in the world. We can trust that all things are possible when we rely on Him. His call isn’t exactly the same for each of us, but some things are consistent for all. For example we are all called to have faith, to pray, to help others who are in need, to spread the Gospel (the Good News), and to give as we are able. Here are two examples of gifts that people of St. Andrew’s are using:
- The sewing group makes quilts for poor people who have no blankets.
- Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teachers help children learn about God’s love for them so they can find their calling.
Next Sunday, the people of St. Andrew’s will be asked to prayerfully consider how we will use our time, talents and treasures in the coming year. You will have the opportunity to respond by completing your time and talent sheet and your estimate of giving card for 2011. The information on the back of this page shows current giving for 2010 (9 months). To the members of our faith family who are facing financial distress and are not able to respond with financial support at this time, please know that you are in our prayers. We value the talents you have to offer. The Lord now sends us forth with hands to serve and give,to make of all the earth a better place to live.The angels are not sent into our world of painto do what we were meant to do in Jesus’ name;that falls to you and me and all who are made free.
