St. Andrew's Newsfeed make it easy to keep up with the latest news from the church with any RSS reader. Our Podcasts allow you to listen to the weekly sermon or worship from our website or from your own personal mp3 player. We hope you enjoy the convenience of these services!
Sermon Podcast:
Newsfeeds are a form of "RSS," which stands for "Really Simple Syndication." RSS allows websites to "broadcast" some of their content to anyone who subscribes. For example, Internet users can have RSS "feeds" displayed on their Google or Yahoo! homepages or in a dedicated RSS reader on their computer. They allow users to access a website's content without actually going to that website. What are podcasts? Podcasts allow an Internet user to receive audio files and listen to them from a computer or load them onto an MP3 player.
How do I use them? Newsfeeds To subscribe to our Newsfeeds, click on the RSS icon above. If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or most any other non-Microsoft browser, the browser will have built in functions to help you subscribe to the newsfeed with various different options. If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, you'll have to manually copy and past the address of the RSS feed into your desired feed reader. (If you are using Internet Explorer 6, it is highly recommended that you update it by running Windows Update or choose a non-Microsoft web browser.) Podcasts To listen directly from our website, you can simply click the play button on the sermon/worship you want to hear on either of these pages: Listen to sermons on our website. Listen to worships on our website. If you want to download and store or listen to the audio on your computer or MP3 player, you'll need podcasting software, such as Juice or iTunes , both of which are free. Once you've downloaded and installed the software, you may be able to simply click the podcasting link above and your software may do the rest. If you're using iTunes, click the iTunes link above (sermon podcasts only). If clicking on the link doesn't work for you, copy the podcast link and manually add it to your player. After that, your podcasting software will automatically download any new MP3s from our website to your computer so you can load them onto your MP3 player and listen at your convenience. |
